While the Albariño Explorers Club video contest might be over, I’ve still got a ton of Albariño to explore and recently got the chance to do some via the Albariño Explorer’s Club blog.

This grape’s got more soul than you’d expect, and with the help of some friends we put it to the test against all sorts of soul food.

Albarino Explorers ClubUntil last week, I would have described Albariño as a squeaky clean wine thanks to its characteristic pale hue, fresh fruit flavors, and refreshing acidity, and clean minerality,–the vinous equivalent of Taylor Swift. However, after pairing two Rías Baixas Albariños with food at Harlem’s iconic Red Rooster Restaurant, I’ve got to say this grape’s got soul–much more Etta James than T.
